From Inside The Box’s Liz Kelly Nelson gives us this thought-provoking article about what could have been:
Nah, I’m happy that it went the way it did. While I can see the interest in getting little snippets of things that happened before our characters showed up, it doesn’t really add anything to the story line.
I did like the scene we saw earlier in the season where Lori and Shane were watching Atlanta being bombed, but that focused on the backstory of characters we know and are emotionally invested in. Yes, I want to see how the gang got to where they are now. How people who were already dead when we were introduced to them got that way? Don’t really care.
It reminds me of the Webisodes AMC has on their Walking Dead website. They tell the story of Bicycle Girl, so we get to see everything that happened to her before she was humanely put down by Rick. I think there are 6 Webisodes, but I only made it through 2 or 3.
To me, Bicycle Girl just isn’t one of the more compelling parts of the saga. Neither is the soldier in the tank. Let’s move this thing along!
